 it has been tradition ever since my son was born that we go pick out the tree the day after Thanksgiving, then decorate it on Saturday;  we generally get a bald tree, so it lasts longer; the few years we got cut trees, we waited till mid-Dec to get a tree so it didn't die on us!

 nope. Our tree doesn't usually go up till about a week before christmas.
