This year does sound like a country song for you, but the happy ending has eleven more months to happen! And it will. But, I am sorry for all the loses you have had so far.

I'm so sorry for you - I DO know how you feel. I had the same kind of 2011 - I won't go into depth but I, too, lost my 16 year old Maltese, survived two moderate floods, then got MRSA from a cut on my foot, and then a huge flood that took my home - lost 15 years of scrapbooks, scrapbook supplies, photos, etc. I decided I was devastated.


Then a little old man, a neighbor also in the flood, was walking out of his old trailer nearby my home, and I said "Oh, were you able to save anything?" and he smiled and hugged his cat and said "Everything that mattered, honey, everything that mattered." A lot of words are spoken in that - and so remember that you and your husband still have "Everything that matters". My heartfelt sympathy to you, and know things will get better.

Awesome story and advice...I try to keep something similar in perspective when I'm going thru rough times.
