Re: Question of the day 2/1
We usually go through stuff about every 3 months, so it doesn't get too out of hand. I've got 4 boxes packed ready to go to Salvation Army right now.

Let's see - where to start???

I have a beautiful, white bird cage from our wedding that we used for the envelopes. Haven't touched it since May 6, 2001. We have extra weights, fishing poles, a printer, fax machine and various travel bags all sitting in the attic that I would LOVE to get rid of. Plus, my FIL's fishing poles that he gave to my DH which are up there as well.

Basically, 50% of my attic could go - including the crutches I discovered last week. It's the bottomless pit up there!

Ooh, the bread machine is definitely something that could go. Lots of other things too if I ever had time to go through them!

The sofa from my husband's grandfather should be thrown out, but it never will be.

I'm the opposite of a pack rat, so not sure there is anything. I recently got rid of most everything we owned and moved over seas. So there's not much left. I'm about to go threw kids closets and take out the too small stuff.

Just one thing? I guess our garage (and contents) doesn't count as one, right?!

I would have to say my piano. My grandfather bought it used in the early 1940's for my mother. He paid $20 and a cow for it. The dang thing is at least 75 years old, no aesthetic value at all (even when new--if the Amish built pianos, this would be one--definitely not "fancy"), and is well past being refurbished in any way, shape or form but it is a family heirloom and I just can't part with it. From kindergarten to h.s. graduation, I played it almost every day of my life. I'd sooner cut off a limb than get rid of it, even though I rarely play anymore.

A wooden bench I have in my living room that is beautiful but it dates back to when we decorated our homes in a country style.....it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the stuff.

Air hockey table..um..no, I'll sell that in a garage sale..um...the kid's books...I won't give them away cos I'm saving them for my grandchildren! I used to love reading my dad's old books when I visited grandparents.

About 75% of what is in our garage could be thrown. Maybe the we could finally get both cars in.
