Sweet! I like my iPad - love my iPhone; pretty much any Apple stuff. Can you say addict?!?!?!
I think it is great he got you something like that; don't feel bad that what you did is not worth (monetary) wise. To him - it may be.
I pretty much use my iPad for surfing in bed; I don't do much reading on it. Or I take it to my work and play movies on it (yes, while I work). My dh and I play games on it together at nite after laying down in bed.

writerlady wrote:Bibi - I'm not even sure yet. It's like a giant iPhone - and I love my iPhone, so I think I'm going to love it. I have to get used to it - I'm SO used to computers, you know? Any suggestions for an iPhone newbie?
I use mine to check out the mb when I can't be on my Mac or when I am not home, and also will sometimes check my mail too (you do need to have a data plan to be able to do that, or have WiFi in the area). I've also been reading a book on it that I switch between my iPhone and iPad. It keeps track of where I left off from either device so I always can just pick up where I last left off no matter which device I last read from. I have a ton of pictures loaded on it, they look awesome on the big screen. Oh and my digi pages are all loaded on it too! They also look awesome on the screen and It's so cool to be able to carry them around! I also have my music on it and I love that you can listen without the need for headphones. I have a recipe app that I want to load my recipes in when I get a chance, and a game that I play once in a while. I also have it synced with iCal on my Mac so my appointments and to do reminders will pop up just as they do on my Mac. I have a few painting and drawing apps that I let Maddie play with when I need to keep her busy, or if I just feel like doodling myself. I absolutely LOVE it soooo much!! Have fun with yours, you will have a great time with it!
Barb - thank you SO much! I've just started playing with it, so I had no idea it could do some of the things you mentioned. Do you know if there is a scrapbook app for it?

Yes there actually is. Obviously it is very limited compared to working on your computer, but yes I had to get it just because I am a scrapper lol. Haven't done anything with it yet, but it would probably be fun if you just wanted to do something quick on the run to send to someone. The one I have is called My Scrap Life. Also, I forgot to mention that I got an app called Text Writer which I like to use if I am in another room and want to type up my journaling for a page I am working on, or even for upcoming pages for an album. I could be in the den on the couch and be thinking of what I want to say and then type it up and then e-mail it to myself and then when I am back at my Mac I can just copy and paste it into my page and format the text as I want. I like to use that app because it has arrow keys on it's keyboard, something that the iPad at this time is lacking. The arrow keys make it a lot easier to move the cursor around for edits. Oh and I forgot to mention that if you want to read books on your iPad and iPhone you can download the iBooks app for free. Then when you purchase books they will show up on the iBooks bookshelf. I love how when you turn the page of the book it actually looks like you are turning the page of a book!
I had no idea that technology had come so far! I have a very simple, basic phone that does .....nothing but text and take pics. I use it like a phone.pawprints wrote:writerlady wrote:Barb - thank you SO much! I've just started playing with it, so I had no idea it could do some of the things you mentioned. LOL my last phone didn't even take pics! It lasted so much longer than most phones ever do, and when it finally went I got my iPhone and wow I LOVE it!
I wonder if I could get one for my next phone. My ds#3 used to be in that industry and he bought me this phone I am currently using. I hate it.

Bibi - I love my iPhone, too. It can be as simple or as complicated as you want it! I have an app on it to record all most of my scrapbook supplies - like all of the Tim Holtz distress ink colors, all of the Bazzill colors, etc., so when I need/want something, I don't duplicate or mistake which one I need. It's not perfect, but it's a lot better than what I had before, which was nothing.

Y'all are talking me into it. I must get an iphone now, well not NOW, but within a year or so. Whenever this one gives up the ghost. Or maybe I could "accidentaly" drop it into the toilet. I don't have an i phone or and i pad...definately missing out! I am due to an upgrade for my phone next month and have no clue how to look for what is best for me. An i pad sounds wonderful too, espescially since my laptop is old and not doing so well now.

Debbie, you are long overdue for a new computer! You should save your nickels and dimes a get one. By the time you have saved enough, you will have had enough time to investigate all the choices.debamas wrote:I don't have an i phone or and i pad...definately missing out!
