Queen Mum - Grammy to Princess Bump (Lisa Giann) and Princess Bean (Gia Bella)
Even though I've purged a lot in the past 2 years, there's still lots of stuff I don't need but can't part with in storage. I'm working hard to get rid of everything I don't need that doesn't have memories tied to it (last weekend we wiped out 12 boxes, with 12 more targeted for disposal and at least 20 more that haven't even been looked through), but I am very nostalgic so that's still going to leave a lot. Like the baby clothes from when my sisters and I were little, and from when my niece was a baby. And old school papers - from elementary school to college. And the set of romance novels (50, one for each state) that my Grandma gave me. And Ollie. I just can't get rid of Ollie. I had him hidden but I had to give a piece of furniture to Mom and now he's back out in the open. Ollie is a ride-along-toy that I've had since I was 2. Mom says I beat him up when I was little, but he's still in great condition (although he does need a bath). You get the picture. The good news is that I've finally gotten to the point that there's no storage or junk in my house, aside from the 5 boxes of papers I need to sort through and possibly shred.
Leslie and Laura, I also keep every card I've received. I've been scrapping all the Christmas cards I've ever gotten. I think eventually I'll do the same with all my other cards, that way they won't be something that I'm holding onto unnecessarily, they'll be scrapbooks. You can't get rid of scrapbooks.

us too - dh hates to let anything gobeachlover wrote:only one... the sofa, its old and lumpy... even Goodwill may now want it!
For the most part, I get rid of unused items pretty good. But I have a large bag of cards kept over the years, some from when me and DH were just dating, and I keep thinking I will use them for something, so I hang on. Plus its kinds fun to go back and read them now and then.

I know we have junk out in the garage that needs to get cleared out! Especially this monstrous drawer unit thingy that the previous owners left here!
Lots of crap that I cram up in the attic because I dont want to part with it.
Definitely DH!!
He keeps telling me my SB stuff (crap..as he says it) is taking up to much space.

Probably the weight machine that DH doesn't use.
some type of fitness equipment, a ski machine of some sort, in my basement
The empty boxes that dh insists on keeping in case he needs to send anything back while it's under warranty...GRRRRRRR. Doesn't he know we can get shipping labels for any box?
I would probably have plenty of room for everything else to be neatly put away in my house if it weren't for the dam empty boxes!

Oh - most everything in my basement. That would include tons of stuff from Mom moving and downsizing (5 years ago) and unopened boxes from our move to this house (12 years ago) and all of our old furniture that wasn't taken away when we got new stuff... etc.
Everything in my attic sans the Christmas Decorations and Dept 56 pieces. My dh is also a box hoarder...ugh!
I used to be a "celebrity cherry", but now I'm in re-hab...... Holy Carp!
We usually go through stuff about every 3 months, so it doesn't get too out of hand. I've got 4 boxes packed ready to go to Salvation Army right now.

Let's see - where to start???
I have a beautiful, white bird cage from our wedding that we used for the envelopes. Haven't touched it since May 6, 2001. We have extra weights, fishing poles, a printer, fax machine and various travel bags all sitting in the attic that I would LOVE to get rid of. Plus, my FIL's fishing poles that he gave to my DH which are up there as well.
Basically, 50% of my attic could go - including the crutches I discovered last week. It's the bottomless pit up there!
