Question about ring binder with layouts
I have taken down some of my albums to look at them again and my favorite Disney Album which I bought at WDW and it is a leather type,  the album has become distorted and my pages somewhat out of shape. Any suggestions on how to get them flat again? I am really disappointed in the album cover,  It was expensive and should have held up better. I had my album standing up on the closet shelf.

Thanks for any suggestions

Re: Question about ring binder with layouts
That does stink.  what I would suggest is take them out of the binder and put the page on a flat surface with something extremely heavy on top, like a large heavy book or even another scrapbook.
now in extremely warped pages and I have done this is, take the pictures off, spritz the back of the layout lightly with water, lay the page on the table cover with wax or parchment paper and place a large book on top. After a day replace the photos , make sure it is dry first. I have done this several times with great result, especially when I am making pages with ink or paint and they get out of shape.

Re: Question about ring binder with layouts
Thank you so much for responding to my question.. I will do that. Hope it will work, hate to have to spritz water on them. I'm frustrated with the album. paid 32.00 for it. How do you store your albums? vertical or horizontal ?

Re: Question about ring binder with layouts
I stand my albums up, but make sure they stand straight.  I don't use ring albums though.  I have all CM albums.  I have found over the years that the bulky flowers and items I used to use are distorting my books too.  I don't think we can control it by different books, but have to stop using heavier 3D items.  IMO.  That is what I have been trying to do lately.  I also noticed a lot of the older Thickers started to curl or come loose from my pages if I don't use extra adhesive on the backs.  I am trying to journal more by hand also!

Re: Question about ring binder with layouts
Thank you for your response about albums. I did have mine standing. and I just might have to buy new albums. I just found that the ring binders worked easier but I also have a few that are post bound and those are fine.Image

Re: Question about ring binder with layouts
Most of my layouts are stacked up waiting g to be put into albums ... i have some in post bound and strap hinge albums, and they are fine. I agree with Ann, that the heavy and bulky embellishments are warping the facing pages, but I too, am trying to use less of that. I have bought several ring albums to use, and can see what you're talking about, because the pages aren't as secure and can move more in there. Maybe you could add some chipboard/cardboard pieces every few pages to make them sturdy? Maybe like the chipboard that comes with the refill protectors...

Re: Question about ring binder with layouts
I store my albums upright . I would be mad about that album as well, they are not cheap and then that happens. I would email the company along with a picture. They might not respond but it can't hurt

Re: Question about ring binder with layouts
I forgot to add that you should store them upright, so the weight of the pages doesn't press embellies into the photos- really don't want those warping.
