Good morning cherries. If you don't know by now, my sweet Ruby Mae - Bear's littermate - had problems walking this past Memorial Day. She went to the vet yesterday for xrays (severe arthritis) and a lumpectomy (she had a fatty tissue on her left knee cap causing her problems). You can catch up on the Update from here.
We had a pretty rough night. The thunder/rain just didn't stop last night. It was a rolling thunder and hail too. So it woke Ruby up. And of course Miss Penny. Didn't get to bed until almost midnight. Up at 4:30am to find Ruby nudging us. Took her out to potty. Luckily her bed was dry. Came in, back to bed. 5:30am rolled around and DH says "aaah..something is wet!". Got up and saw that Ruby made it up on the bed from the ottoman! WTH!! You just had surgery dog! How did you do that?!?! As thankful I am that she can MOVE....being up on OUR bed and accidently peeing is no bueno. So sheets are being washed and DH will move ottoman away from the bed..just until she's better and can control her bladder more. I'm laughing about it now..just not at 5:30am. LOL.
She's resting right now. She needs to take meds every 12 hrs. Don't want to mess her up by feeding her too early. Will wait until 7ish.
oh poor baby!!! (((HUGS))) and puppy kisses for Ruby Mae!!

"WTH?" would have been my reaction, too. LOL! But hey, when they need mama, they need mama, right? Glad she's doing better. She's certainly full of determination!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
Thank you Ann!beachlover wrote:oh poor baby!!! (((HUGS))) and puppy kisses for Ruby Mae!!

No joke, that's for sure. I am thankful that she will go to "daddy" if "momma' is busy..that is very helpful. Bear didn't want daddy most of the time...so it make me extra exhausted!Laura wrote:"WTH?" would have been my reaction, too. LOL! But hey, when they need mama, they need mama, right? Yeah...I was happy that she's doing so well...but getting up on the bed and all...not good. Not right now though.
Storm wise - more is on the way. Quiet now until this evening. Then repeat for tomorrow. But hopefully she'll catch up on sleep now

I had to LOL a little bit about this - just cuz been there, done that. Get a water proof mattress pad so you don't have to worry about that. If they are determined enough they can do anything they want to - pain or no pain. As my vet told me once, they can be very good as masking pain and not letting us know. Some dogs are just built that way (like people).
Oh yes..we already have a water proof cover over our mattress. So I'm not worried about our mattress.sdwhru wrote:I had to LOL a little bit about this - just cuz been there, done that. I guess I was just surprised..12 hrs after surgery..and she wanted to get on the bed. LOL.
But yes, some dogs are better at masking their pain. Ruby seems to be handling a bit better than how Bear did last year.

That was not just a storm, that was a STORM you guys had, saw it on our news all the way in Pennsylvania. So Ruby Mae is allowed to be scared and have all kinds of issues, as long as she's doing better now. Poor baby.
As for "Mom"? GET OVER IT. LOL I love you Brandy, you know that!!
