Hi ladies My grandson has been having problems gaining weight and getting sick for the past 3 months (he's 3 months old).  Yesterday he had "another" cold and he sounded TERRIBLE! His little chest was straining straining so hard... His mom and dad took him to the ER and it was a long day. They did lots of tests on him, including putting a tube down his nose to suction his chest. They sent him home with breathing treatments. Mommy got a call this morning from the ENT who read the ER report and wanted him in ASAP. They put a tube down his throat to examine him and he has severe layrngomalacia. It is a condition where the little folds above the layrnx fold over and close the trachea so he cannot breath. They also said this his hole is very small, so it may not heal on it's own, as it does in 75% of babies or so. He has an emergency appointment at a University Pediatric ENT surgeons office on November 8th. I sure wish it was sooner. Mom and Dad have lots of instructions on how to care for him until the visit. Me, dh, mommy and daddy are concerned and frightened. His breathing is cutting off when he eats, when he coughs, when he gets a cold... I'm glad they found this, but I wish he was already better. Thank you for helping me put the Cherry power to good use here!

Oh, goodness!  Good thoughts for him and his parents.  I think it's absolutely crazy that his EMERGENCY appointment is two weeks away!  Hang in there!

Poor little guy. I also can't believe that a so called EMERGENCY appointment isn't for two weeks. That doesn't seem like such an emergency in my book. I hope everything goes well. HUGS!!!!

Father, be with this family at their time of need.  Give them peace and help this child breathe and heal.  Thank you for putting them in touch with the proper doctors who caught this issue!!!  Guide the doctors now during treatment so he can have a full recovery. In your name I pray this over this family....Amen!!

I'm sorry to hear of your grandson's diagnosis, but I'm glad they got some answers and are on the right track!!  It's never easy when a child is sick. I will keep him and your family in my prayers!!  Please keep us posted!

Oh, my gosh!  Will be praying for sure.  I love when ENT doc's catch stuff like this (they did the same for my DH).  It's a God thing

I feel so bad for your little grandson and for his mommy and daddy and for you. Geez an emergency is something that needs immediate attention! I can't believe they are making this little guy and his family wait until Nov. 8th! The baby can't breathe! I would think that they would tend to that immediately! How can they make you all wait and worry like this?! And make that little guy go through this for another 2 weeks?! Many, many ((hugs)).
