I loved the old 80's movies and watched most of the ones mentioned with my friends. I loved and still love Disney movies. Back before we had our own VCR when I was a kid, my dad would rent one in town and get himself and my brother some old westerns, and he would get me the live action Disneys--Pollyanna, Heidi, the Swiss Family Robinson, some Herbie ones, Old Yeller, the Apple Dumpling Gang, etc. Loved those. My friend's family had a satellite (we all lived out in the country=no cable!) and would record lots of movies like the Flight of the Navigator and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and the Parent Trap.
And, now, I mostly watch movies with my kids and they center on cartoons . . . I don't like scary or stupid.

Oh, I forgot about all those awesome Disney movies...love, love, love, Pollyanna, Swiss Family Robinson and the Parent Trap! Have watched them more times than I can count.average_kim wrote:I loved the old 80's movies and watched most of the ones mentioned with my friends. I loved and still love Disney movies. Anytime Back to the Future comes on I immediately have to sit down in front of it. I'm a huge Back to the Future Fan and will watch the trilogy over and over. I also would watch Dirty Dancing, The Wedding Singer, and Moonstruck over and over again.
I would never watch any of the Godfather movies again or Goodfellas… way too disturbing. Oh and Death Wish. I shudder whenever I even think about that movie. I never saw Marley and Me and don't intend to because I heard the ending would be too hard for me to handle.

I could watch Dirty Dancing and Bridesmaids over and over again. I won't watch scary movies at all.
Grease, Wizard of OZ, Mary Poppins, Annie, Baby Boomers, Overboard, Baby Boom, When Harry Met Sally, Where the heart is, Simon Birch. I could watch them over and over again!

Oh I love the 80s movies too! I thought I WAS Molly Ringwald and/or Baby Houseman. When we went on vacation the past 2 summers to a resort in the Catskills, DH even took pictures of me "dancing" up a staircase like in Dirty Dancing. What dorks!
Anyway, I will rewatch any Harry Potter, Star Wars movies, Titanic (I saw it 4 times in the theatre, countless times on VHS), if My Cousin Vinny comes on we have to watch it. It's just too funny. I'll watch Adam Sandler's good movies LOL. I will watch anything with Alan Rickman. I love horror movies. I will watch any Rob Zombie movie, The Exorcist, J-horror movies.
One movie that I will never watch again is one I saw by accident...a friend was sightseeing with me and we were so tired from walking all day that we figured we would take in a movie and rest. We were near an artsy theatre and a movie called The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover was playing . We were all of 20 years old and thought this sounded like a fun Monty-Pythonish movie. It was not. I nearly threw up but we had paid our money and we were not going to walk out!! Oy!!! I'd have walked out now.

Movies I can watch over and over: the original Star Wars trilogy, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Wall-E, How to Train Your Dragon 1&2, Lilo and Stitch. I love ET but I always cry so I don't watch that one over and over, lol.
Strangely enough, I can't stand Dreamworks movies (except How to Train Your Dragon). I used to love horror movies but I find as I get older I can't stomach them as much. Not sure why? A movie I will never watch again is A Clockwork Orange. I also rarely enjoy sappy movies or the typical chick flicks.
Sadly, I don't watch movies much anymore. Free time is limited so when I get some, I scrap!

Any Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movie and also Curly Sue. Such a cute movie.
I love Tom Hanks (and Meg Ryan). Wish he would make more feel-good movies and less dramas. I loved his older stuff.emmapaige wrote:Any Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movie and also Curly Sue. Such a cute movie.

There are quite a few movies I can watch over and over again, but the ones I've watched the most are - Titanic, P.S. I Love You, Remember the Titans, Dreamer, The Dark Knight, Underdog, Up
Movies I can never watch again - Remember Me, The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, The Ring

I've learned not to watch stupid movies too, lol - everytime I think I'll like one, I don't. Like Anchorman. Yuck!Art_Teacher wrote:So I'm guessing you have no patience for "stupid" movies. lol I don't even watch them in the first place, unless they have Adam Sandler in them, because I love him, but some of his movies are so pointless and others are great.blbabe1234 wrote:I LOVE 80s movies!!! Movies I won't touch again is Tommy Boy, Black Sheep (not a fan of Chris Farley) and Pineapple Express and Hot Tub Time Machine.![]()
I feel that way about all the 80's dance movies - Dirty Dancing, Flashdance, Footloose... love them!butterfly843 wrote:I could watch Dirty Dancing and Bridesmaids over and over again. I won't watch scary movies at all.
I love Fiddler on the Roof! My dad took me to see the play when it came to town a few years ago because he knew how much I have always loved the movie, and it was amazing.Laura wrote:While I detest most television offerings, I love great movies!!!
Hmmm . . . movies I can watch over and over again . . . wow . . . there's a lot and they are all over the map. Psycho, Mildred Pierce, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Jaws, The Graduate, The Haunting (original black and white), The House on Haunted Hill (original black and white), When Harry Met Sally, Batman (1989), Mommie Dearest, Silence of the Lambs (sorry fellow Cherries, sometimes I like being scared!), Grease!
Movies I won't ever watch again . . . Halloween 3 Season of the Witch, Scar Face, any of the God Father movies, any of the Star Wars movies, Pulp Fiction, any Friday The Thirteenth movie.
Let's see....Have never seen a Hunger Games, Harry Potter or the 3 recent Star War movies. I like musicals, so Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Sound of Music. I loved Antman and only see the Marvel movies if I'm visiting my grandkids in California. I fall asleep during animated movies but I managed to stay awake for the latest 2 - The Minions and Inside Out. I'm not really a movie watcher. When my husband wants to go, I normally try to pick mostly action movies such as disasters or space or aliens. I do love relationship ones though.
I could watch The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance and Steel Magnolias every week and never get tired of watching them.
I don't like creepy movies with stalkers and serial killers/rapists and stuff like that in movies. Also The Birds by Hitchcock. I am deathly afraid of birds and that movie freaked me out.
