Do you now, or have you ever, used a train underneath your tree?
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions. I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.
We have every year until this year. We use my hubby's childhood train set, but we need some new pieces for it. I love putting out the train, because in one of the hauling cars, there are packages . . . I take Styrofoam and cut it into little parcels, wrap it brown craft paper and put the names and addresses of loved ones that have passed on them. We've had some people tell us that's morbid, but I think of it as always including them.

Not a train, but I do have a Disney World monorail set that I use when I can. It takes up a lot of space so I don't get to use it every year.

I've never had a train under the tree. Maybe when my son gets older if he wants one...

Yes, I have a couple of times. Cheap trains but had fun with them. My dad did for us one year too.

I see it not different then buying an ornament that you place on your tree in memory of each year. I think it is a nice way to remember them. They are forever in your heart.Laura wrote:We have every year until this year. We use my hubby's childhood train set, but we need some new pieces for it. I used to be indecisive; now I'm not sure.

No - but I would LOVE to! I just don't have one and it's expensive so I've never gotten one.

I always wanted one, and after I met DH but before we were married and I found out how much he loves trains, I finally bought one. It's not a cheap one...I paid over $200 for it. It it a Christmas train, with all kinds of moving characters...elves, train workers, and Santa comes in on the caboose. We used it for 2 years, then didn't use it last year. This year it will definitely go back under the tree!
No, but I have several friends who use a train.
We use to but no room for gifts ..I love the idea of having one, but not practical at this house

No.
My great aunt always did. I loved visiting her before Christmas to see the train. She always made popcorn balls, too. Those I did not care for. Luckily, they were given out as we left. No hurt feeling that way.
