Patty passed away yesterday morning. She had been taken off the ventilator on Friday and held on until Monday morning. Time enough for visitors to share their love and stories with her husband and kids. She will definitely be missed but I know she wouldn't have wanted to live this way. Now she is at peace and I hope the healing of everyone else can begin. No one wants to lose a loved one but it seems especially cruel when it happens during the Christmas season when young kids are involved. Patty loved Christmas so much - she was always filled with laughter and happy stories of her kids.

So please everyone hug your loved ones... Forgive petty slights... And remember how quickly life can change.

Oh my Nancy!! I'm so very sorry. It is so very cruel, it seems, at Christmas - I lost my Mom - it'll be 17 years ago - on Sunday. I dread that day. She had been Christmas shopping and died suddenly like your friend. It was a very hard Christmas season, but the thoughts of seeing her again some day was never lost in the holiday. We all need to remember we may not be here tomorrow - so we need to share and enjoy life one moment at a time.
