Here is an update that Gloria posted for another site we visit.
Bud is still in the hospital. His blood pressure wa 244/over something else really high.
He has Atrial fibrillation - meaning that his heart rhythm was off and wasn't pumping all the blood out as it should.
They have him on all kinds of meds. They are working to get his heart rhythm and bp controlled.
His bp is at about 165 at this point. So much better than it was but still high.
They are giving him heparin (blood thinner) to prevent blood clots.
His liver was enlarged but it's much better today. The fluid is out of his lungs.
I had scrappy friends from back east (who are now living in Missouri and in Colorado Springs ) who had arrived on Friday. It was unfortunate that I really didn't have time to spend with them since I had to call the ambulance at 615 yesterday morning - but I was very grateful that they were here when I got home yesterday afternoon. They took care of me and made sure I had a nap and ate.
I did go up to visit Bud yesterday afternoon and it was great to not come home to an empty house. We watched a movie and I didn't get to bed u ntil 1130p and was up at 715a. They left at 2pm so we had a nice breakfast and we visited a bit.
Bud is really doing well emotionally. Janie can tell you how stubborn he is.
He has made a promise to me that he will make some major life style changes and I told him that had to include some attitude adjustments (toward the medical profession and taking his meds)
Both Lisa and Gia got on the phone to say a prayer for their Yeya for me. That was the most precious thing in the world.
Bud and I are so lucky to have wonderful family and friends to support us.
Right now I need sleep. I'm going to take an ambien. For safety's sake I've told my neighbor that I am going to do that and will call them when I wake up (the pill really knocks me out) I need to rest so I don't have a fibro flare that will lay me out.
We both thank you for your love and prayers.
Love to all of you.
Glo

Mildred - Mom to 2 girls and a husband (I tell people that I am a single mom of 3. Ages 59, 37 and 31) lol. And a proud Grandma to Orahn (7) Sawyer (5) and Mazie (3).

I just received a call from Gloria, she is on the way to the hospital to pick up Bud. BP is 137/77 and has been stable for the last 24 hours. Bud feels really good and said this is the best he has felt in years. Hopefully this will be a turning point for him and his view of doctors and medications.
Gloria wants to thank everyone for all their prayers and good vibes. I am sure she will post something later in the day or week once things get settled down at home.

Yay! Thanks for the updates. Many times 'minor' heart issues that get one to the hospital can be the best thing in the world long-run!

hugs and prayers that he will continue to improve
That is great!
OCD is not an adjective. It is not a personality quirk. It is not synonymous with being organized. It is a complex and debilitating mental health illness that affects people of all ages and walks of life, and is defined by the presence of unwanted, intrusive thoughts and repetitive actions.
I am an OCD warrior and I fight for my son.

Great news that he is coming home and his BP is under control!

Wonderful news and prayers he understands his meds are so very important!
