I've been holding out. January has been a really tough month and I figured there was no harm anymore in letting you all in on it.
Soon after the first of the year my husband lost his job. We both worked and it's essential for him to keep working so that we can make ends meet. We don't qualify for any assistance because I make over the maximum amount and yet even with both of us working, we still struggle. Many things have had to go including my husband's truck. We sold it to pay off the car and have 1 less bill to pay. There aren't many jobs here and so far he hasn't had any luck finding something new.
As you know, we got a puppy at the end of 2011 and she's a bright spot in the day but today we had to say good-bye to one of our other dogs. He was 15.5 years old and a good dog but he couldn't get up anymore and we had to carry him up and down the stairs. He'd also lost control of his bowels and bladder. He was a happy and pretty dog. We had lots of compliments on him - he was a hybrid wolf.
So, 2012 has been a little bit like a bad country song - lost the job, lost the truck, lost the dog. My friend says country songs always have a happy ending. I'm ready for that happy ending now.
ahhhhh hon, I am so sorry! I hope the rest of the year gets much much much better!!!

Oh Rachel, my heart aches for you and your husband. I know how hard it is to lose a pet who just completely loses control due to age. And I'm sorry to hear your husband lost his job. Really hopes there is something out there for him. Many many (((HUGS))).

There is always a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow. That is what someone told me once. Each journey we go through is a rainbow. Each rainbow starts at the bottom, and goes up and then back to earth. Although it may seem like things are just keep going down, it's a good thing, because you are getting closer to the end of the rainbow (and closer to the gold).
Hope that makes sense,
Annie

You have had to endure way too many losses all at one time. I have shed a few tears for you and your losses. It is soooo hard to loose a furbaby. Here is to looking at a brighter 2012 with the new month starting tomorrow. (((HUGS)))
Mildred - Mom to 2 girls and a husband (I tell people that I am a single mom of 3. Ages 59, 37 and 31) lol. And a proud Grandma to Orahn (7) Sawyer (5) and Mazie (3).
Oh Rachel I'm sorry to hear all the sad news. I sure hope that 2012 shapes up for you.
I can relate on one level - losing a fur baby. It stinks. We just lost one of our dogs, she was almost 8 years old, passed in her sleep without warning.
I'll keep good thoughts out there for you and your family.
