So yesterday was my daughters first day of school. The second graders bus was 35 minutes late picking her up and then when she got to school she was told to go to class. She gets free breakfast at school and since she didn't get any she had to wait until 12:25 for lunch!!!!
Then this is what happened on the way home: http://sparta.wzzm13.com/news/education ... arta-buses
Thank God my husband had heard that there was busing problems and ran up to school to get the girls. However, the bus number they had on the hands never came through the neighborhood....sure hope everything is worked out today b/c I have school and they have to ride the bus home!!

Wow that is terrible. I hope all goes well for the kids today. Good luck!!!
Mildred - Mom to 2 girls and a husband (I tell people that I am a single mom of 3. Ages 59, 37 and 31) lol. And a proud Grandma to Orahn (7) Sawyer (5) and Mazie (3).
HUGS. I hope they get it fixed. The bus would pick up my girls at 6:40am...and school starts at 8:15. I'm so glad that we are home and can take them to school each day.
Jenna - Mom to Emily (2/02) & Kaitlyn (2/04)
Woah- 3 hours late?! That is horrible! Good luck today- I hope it's all under control now!
HOLY COW. That's ridiculous! The poor kids must've been so scared and confused, and I can't even imagine being a parent... nor can I imagine how things would get so screwed up in the first place... that's inexcusable.
I really hope they've got things set today, but I can imagine if they don't, they'll be in REALLY hot water!
That's exactly why my parents always took me in in the morning... the bus home only took half an hour, or maybe 45 minutes, but for some reason the morning ride would've been twice as long. :S

A year ago they revamped our elementary schools...went from neighborhood schools to grade level schools....K-2 at 3 schools, 3-5 at the rest. The result is that they picked up elementary kids and high school kids together. They were all bused to the high school, then the elementary kids were put on a different bus depending on where they went to school. The reverse happened in the afternoon. The first day last year, they were all 2 hours late getting home! What a fiasco! This year went better (I think) but youngest DS no longer rides the bus as we are within walking distance now, and DS #5 is in middle school now. But it was a headache and a lot of nerves waiting for them to get home that day!
First day bus ride is awful any year, but this is just not suppose to happen. I used to drive a school bus and it was never this bad. And besides that, the bus driver should never drop any child off where it is not the correct stop.
