I was organizing my scrap room today- I have to actually start using it, as I scrap at the dining room table now. Anyway, as I was organizing I wondered how you other cherries store your paper? All I have right now is a plastic case that opens like a briefcase, that I keep my 12x12 papers in. It's a pain when I have to look through them to find one that I want. Also, I keep every little scrap of paper- what do you guys do with them? My room is tiny but I hope to add a few things to keep it more organized- wall shelves, something different in the armoire and closet, etc. Here are a few pics.....any suggestions welcome! I would like to have less on the table too if possible. I keep my ribbons in a jar, any ideas for making something to ? hang them on, etc?
I LOVE that orange!! It doesn't look as if there's room for another standing unit that will hold 12x12 papers...how about when you put in shelves? Can you make them large enough to to 12" deep? Then there's be cropper hopper standing storage or even a stack of 12x12 paper holder arranged by color or brand.
I wonder, sometimes, if we ever give God a headache.
for paper storage when you don't have alot of room, i recommend cropper hopper vertical paper storage system. It works well for me:) Love your room!
Sometimes the one you think is your knight in shining armour might actually turn out to be a retard in tin foil!
I like my Chopper Hoppers for papers. I have 3 full of cardstock by the colors.
then I have 12 other hoppers for my pattern papers. Which I have seperated by theme and colors

I love your space and the bright orange color of your walls. As far as paper storage I don't have a lot so for now I use a couple of Iris file totes that I picked up at Joanns. I put each paper line and coordinating card stock in it's own file folder. I think you have great potential storage in your armoire, maybe those Jetmax cubes from Michaels would work or I know some people use the wire mesh units but I'm not sure what they are called. Look through the organization thread where a lot of Cherries posted pictures of their rooms for ideas that might work for you. Good luck.

Life is good, and even better when the SUN is shining!
I still have my papers stored in these Creative Memories cardboard boxes that I bought YEARS ago. I store them my solid color cardstocks (by color)....and then patterned papers (by color theme) as well. I had found the perfect size 2 door cabinet at Office Max...that fits these boxes perfectly. I use the bottom half (each half has a shelf in it) and stack them that way. I absolutely love it! They also would fit in this armoire that I bought at a consignment shop as well.
Good luck!!!

I have all my paper stored in plastic totes too (to the left in the photo below). It is a bit of a pain to look through them all when I want a certain color, etc..., but I have so much paper I don't know what else to do with it. I also keep my solid scraps in one and my patterned scraps in another.

i think i have what you are talking about from joanns and i LOVE it. I have been through many/all paper storage systems believe me , and this one is the one i love. I hang paper in folders and you can just flip through your paper with ease and its easy to put away and most importantly easy to find ! ! I hope you find what works for you . GOOD LUCK !

Thank you ladies for your comments and suggestions. Sorry- I forgot about this thread!
I have vertical files for cardstock separated by color. Tiered folders for some of my prints - organized by color. Then I have themed paper or paper by brand in Iris cart boxes.

I have some paper in homemade vertical files made from shipping boxes and now some on a small cube shelf I bought at Hobby Lobby. I don't keep scraps anymore. I never did anything with them. If they are big enough to be usable, I put them in a pile for the daycare.
I have a small scrappy room too, so I had to get creative with my space. Here is pic of my ribbon storage. I bought 2 pants hangers at Walmart and 2 over the door wreath holders. I put by ribbons on the hangers and then hung them over the scrappy room door. I've been really pleased with it. I have stacking shelves that I keep my paper in.
I keep all of my patterned paper by category, in different boxes/CM keepers, and most of my cardstock is in a cropper hopper - I need to buy another tho. I really like this system of filing, but don't like how packed in they are!

I have my paper in plastic keepers (I use CM's but there are lots) & they fit in a cardboard box I keep on the floor next to my chair. Anything themed is together in one folder, the rest are by maker (if it's from a kit or there are a lot) or color. For small scraps I have a wall-hanging cd-holder I stick them in, which is awesome because it hangs right where I work so I can see & reach them. Those pants hangers are a great idea for ribbon; I also have one of the plastic ribbon boxes (from JoAnn's I think; I love that it closes so it's just a flat surface to dust, since I have allergies, much better than lots of open cloth). Then I have a couple metal rings (like binder rings, they sell them separately) just hanging up with ribbon hanging on them. Again, nice & handy plus visible!

Over the years I have bought out some wire racks that local scrapbook stores was selling as they closed out! I have arranged the paper alphabetically by manufacturer. Recently I've pulled out paper that I would never use. So i've cleared room for new stuff!! BUT i'm really trying to use my stash before buying more! The racks really helps me to see what I've got!!
