its a unthinkable thing to see a friend or coworker go though the loss of a child. its not supposed to be that way. Its even more difficult when as the parent you go through this. and i dont mean just experiencing the pain and shock... and disbeleif...
its hard to imagine that all your parenting comes to a final end for that child. Normally, like in the case of birthdays, we plan the what they wear, the invitations, the decorations, the food. However in this moment the last decisions you will ever make for that child is what they will wear, what they will be buried in, and the flowers, announcements, music and other arrangements. then the planning and dreaming stops.....
I know this all too well...I hurt for the mother, the parents because I know what it feels like. I know the steps it takes to get through each second. my daughter Rachel would have been 24 this oct 12. she was 4 months old. I think sometimes the parents who have more memories are lucky in a way cause after the pain subsides, the memories are comforting. but when its fresh the memories of the child are torture. but I also think cause I had her for such a short time, not having a ton of memories made it a tiny bit easier, but the harder part was not having many memories of her. it feels so empty and short. anyways, these parents will be in my thoughts today.

This brought back sad memories. When I was in high school (1984), I never lost one classmate. But when my daughter was in her junior year, she lost 5 friends. It was so devistating for our small town. It was caused by kids drinking and driving. I remember standing for 3 hours in a line just to pay my respect to one girls family. The out come of our community was so large that the viewing was held in the high school auditorium. It could not be a open casket, but her parents buried her in the dress she had picked out for prom.
I will keep the family in my prayers,
I will keep the family in my prayers,
Live each day as if it was your last..
