I didn't and still don't like how they arrange by color and split the lines up (paper and accessories in different places). Since the LSS that I used to frequent all the time has closed and the other ones' selection sometimes is not very good, I do tend to go to Archivers more often now. I have found that when I do go I always look for the items that I have in my wishlist/basket here to make sure that I like them and then I order from ACOT. Even with shipping I usually can get things a little cheaper.
Have you been to Castleton or just the south side one? Castleton arranges by theme or product line, not by color, and everything they have from one line is in the same area.

My first trip to Archivers was in NC last year when I went to visit my DD and brand new granddaughter....I did not realize until I got back that a few of ladies from the board here met there the very same day! Wish I knew it then I could have met them!
Loved Archivers it was so much fun. I hope to have one near by us some day.

I live in California where we dont have Archivers. But in October 2006 I spent a week in Minnesota with some scrappy friends and they took me to the Minneapolis Mall of America Archivers. WOW is all I can say
Glad you got to go and enjoy yourself.

I usually go to the Southport store since it is closer. Maybe Castleton has changed since I've been there. Have to venture up there again sometime and check it out. It does make it easier when the lines are kept together, especially if the store personnel are not that knowledgeable as has happened to me when looking for a specific item. Thanks for the info.PezKat wrote:Sandi0805 wrote:We have 2 here in the Indy area and I rarely ever went there unless there was a good sale or I had a coupon to use. We don't have one around here. so I have never been to a Archivers. Sounds like a good way to spend your birthday.

We don't have them here in Canada, but went to one in Houston Texas when I was there and loved it. I have to admit, my LSS has more, but still....lots to poke around and see, and I did manage to spend money...usually do!

nope never been. but would love to go.
I swear they pipe in special endorphins through the hv/ac system to make you lose track of time and buy more stuff. It's like an opium den for scrapbookers...especially with those monthly coupons they tempt you with.

I have one close to me too. I hate the way they are organized...but still love the selection.

I'm going to the Mall of America in May for work, so I'm already saving for my trip to Archviers! I have a few friends that have been and I can't wait! It's interested to hear other opinions, so it'll be interesting to see what I think.

I´m usually overwhelmed by almost any scrapbooking store as I seldom have the opportunity to enter one. The largest I´ve every visited was a place called Arnie´s near Houghton in Michigan. Didn´t spend more than $30 as there was too much to look at - and I never figured out the layout of the store. For me the smaller but well-stocked places with friendly, knowledgable store help are better (recently in Madison and Milwaukee, WI) - at least until I have a chance to become familiar with something bigger! Don´t even know if there is an Archiver´s in Michigan or Wisconsin.
