Thank you girls for your comments. Although it was a small one it still gets your attention fast! This was nothing compared to the one we had in 1986! Since we are right on the fault, I am always waiting for the next one to hit. They say one day California will be in the pacific ocean! Guess I better learn to swim, hehe!

What a RUDE awakening! 4.4 might not be much compared to the recent horrible quakes in Chili and Haiti, but it's enough to shake you up! I'm glad you're OK. I did see on the news this morning that there was damage to a couple of lanes of Interstate 5.

I don't want to sound like those guys who chase tornadoes and wish for F-5's just to watch the destruction, but I would like to be alert and awak to experience a minor quake, just to know what it felt like. The last one we had around here, which was the one a year or two ago that was centered over in southern Illiinois/Indiana, we slept through and it was like, a 6.2 or something!! The only other one I've been through, I was at work and thought somebody's wash was spinning out of balance and yelled at the residents for somebody to go fix the washer and went back to my paperwork. I don't want anybody to get hurt or anything to get broken--I just want to know what it feels like.
