 I suggested that we have them as favors for our Wine and Dine event that our Friends of the Library throw - no one else knew what they were.  I'm thinking the ladies would thing them not classy enough!

 i never heard of the things and dd was asking for them. We do have Wiki Stix though, got them at a craft store for like, $1.  those are enough of a pain (though not much mess thankfully)

 We have some, but they are called Wicki Sticks.  Same basic principle - wax covered string.  They are really cool.  We take them on road trips and my son makes pictures on the car window.
