I teach all day kindergarten.! We try to screen as many potential students for next fall right now in the spring - basically to get numbers for enrollment, etc. It is a test for letters and numbers up to 20 and colors and if they can hold their pencil and write their name, etc. The speech teacher also tests for any language red flags and they get their eyes and ears tested. No skipping here!If a child doesn't screen well right now, we retest right before school starts in the fall. Here in Kansas it is 5 by September 1st.
