When I joined I wanted to be as anonymous as possible and I just never got around to changing it even though I started signing my name a few months ago. And like a couple people have said, I can remember an "icon" type picture better than a face. My avatar goes well with my username and it's the symbol off my car (Mercury Cougar) which I love most of the time.
