This is my recipe and it turned out so good both Larry & his cousin Wes didn't hardly talk as they ate. I'm much more a dark meat chicken person but I think it would be equally good with chicken breasts.
Olive Oil (Texas Olive Ranch)
1 package Chicken Legs - 8 legs
1/3 cup white wine (Sister Creek Vineyards Reserve 2008 Texas Muscat Canelli)
1 can Campbell's Cream of Celery Soup
1/2 can water
1 tblsp dried parsley flakes or 2 tblsps fresh parsley
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
1 tsp dried oregano leaves
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
3/4 tsp Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper Seasoning
2 cups cooked white rice
Brown Chicken in enough Olive Oil to cover bottom of a skillet for approx. 10 minutes. Transfer to slow cooker. Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl except for the cooked rice. Cook on low for 6 hours, serve over cooked rice.
This is exactly how I made it. I would have loved a 2-3 ribs of celery to have sliced and put in. I also would have loved to have a juice of one lemon. I didn't have either and going to the grocery store and have dinner at 6pm would not have happen. With the reaction of the guys I don't think I would change the recipe. Just a note, we are a huge garlic family and most times I double whatever a recipe says. Since this is my recipe, I already doubled what most people would put in their recipe. Enjoy!
I make almost the exact same slow cooker recipe with chix breasts. I do use lemon juice and a little paprika instead of the Lemon Pepper. And instead of 1/3 c white wine, I use same amt. cooking sherry. It's a favorite here, served with rice pilaf and a salad.
I'll try it with chix legs for variety. Thanks!!

And I have to try it your way, too!
okay Kim, I just made this one yesterday and DING DING!!! We have another winner!!! I had a package with 12 drumsticks so I added a bit more seasoning, wine and water to it. Perfect! And it only took about 3 1/2 hours in my crockpot.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
