Hello! The past few times I've uploaded a page, I've wanted to add it under a category of technique that is not listed. There is a little hyperlink that says "suggest other categories" but that does not pull up anything for me, I've tried it on different computers and nothing.
So I thought I'd suggest some of my ideas here.
categories for pages for techniques:
washi
inking
Misting
Those are the three I immediately think of, on pages I've done and techniques I know a lot of us are using lately (especially the washi, Mildred
).
Thanks for your time and all you do to keep this site running!

Did you send a PM to any of the moderators? I am with you on the categories, too. I always ink but there is no cat for it. I usually put it under "chalking" because that is the closest I can get.

I did not, I just did this thread in the suggestions board.

The techniques in the gallery should match IMHO the categories in the grey bar above. And the same way with the topics - it should go with the "Theme" above.
All are WAY outdated.

That makes sense. But if you switched to the categories above, you'd be missing out on techniques like clusters, stitching, fussy cutting. I do agree that the list is on the submission page quite outdated!
I don't think stitching or fussy cutting are in the selections, come to think of it.

You're right, fussy cutting is not there, cause I was looking for some layouts the other day to give as an example for my Ready for Fall challenge. And I've done stitching and not been able to put it anywhere either.
I know most of all, sometimes I get stumped and want to look at other's pages for inspiration. I LOVE narrowing by "Disney" especially if I'm doing a Disney page (but sometimes just because I love seeing them all!) But sometimes I want to be able to see how washi has been used, because other than using it as a border or taped on the edge of something, or banners, I'd like other ideas on how to use it. This way, if we have a washi narrowing option, we can totally see that.

As long as I've been here it has said "Pattered Paper" instead of "Patterned Paper," and I have sent other suggestions that never get implemented. I think the pm might be a good idea.
One option in the meantime is using the Search feature - a lot of us list the supplies we use in a page so at least those layouts will come up!

I have noticed that too about the "patterned paper" thing.

The problem is, neither Heidi, Brandon, Clint, NOR Kristin have an option to PM them. So I can't message them. Gonna edit the title so maybe they'll see it!!

If you have saved any PMs you have received from any of them, just respond back off of that. I did that once and it worked

Great idea! I had one from Kristin so I messaged her back about it.

I messaged Kristin. I just summarized some of the specific examples that were mentioned here, and told her I had put it here and there were some additional suggestions.
She messaged me back - already! - and said she'll have Brandon add the categories this week! It might just be 6 or 7, but we'll get some new ones at least!!

I'd also love to see a category added in the topics section that says significant other or husband. I do pages of Aj sometimes, and never know where to put it! haha!

I've added those techniques. Let me know if there are any more that should be added. I can't remove any, unless they are completely unused.
