"Mark as Read" option

I created a php forum about a year ago and remember setting several options;
Mark all as read : Allows the reader to mark the current topics they DON'T want to read as already being read so they wouldn't appear in the "Recent Topics"
Subscriptions : Allows the reader to create subscriptions to their favorite topics.

I love these ideas, particularly the "mark as read". Currently there doesn't seem to be any rule for whether a topic is blue or black. For me, it doesn't seem to relate to read/unread like on the old board.

That would be a good feature to have.

I removed the 'mark as read' link because I didn't think anyone would use it. I could put it back somewhere. But even with that, it wouldn't change which topics show up in the recent topics. It basically marks all the posts as read so that little icon doesn't appear next to it.
Subscriptions- I still need to finish setting all the settings for that.

If I remember correctly, the "mark as read" option should give each posters the ability to mark specific topics or all the topics they don't want to see new responses to..
Thanks Brandon! The new board is coming along nicely! Great job
