I just finished The Appeal.  I love anything by him; I think had I not been a teacher, I would have loved to be an attorney!  They both love to talk!  It was especially thought-provoking, though not particularly a literary award-winner, due to the presidential campaigning/elections going on right now.   Exactly, where do all those millions of dollars for campaigning come from and are there "unspoken" strings attached? It was an easy, quick read and  I really  enjoyed it. I'm not a huge Nicholas Sparks fan, but I started The Choice by him because it was here.  But it's started out pretty good, too!  It has dogs involved, so that always keeps me interested!

LOVE John Grisham. The Firm was the first novel I read after the twins were born. In spite of sleep deprivation, I read like crazy.I read the first chapter of The Appeal from John's website and am anxious for my turn with the actual book from the library. I am now 28 of 143 holds!Have you read Playing for Pizza or The Bleachers? These are a departure from his legal novels, but are fun books.

I LOVED Bleachers, but I'm a fan of anytthing football (i.e. Friday Night Lights, etc.).  Playing for Pizza was my least favorite.  But sometimes it's just the mood I'm in when I read!  If you haven't read A Time to Kill definitely stop by the library for it.  It reminds me of my all-time favorite To Kill a Mockingbird.

Oh yes! A Time to Kill is my favorite of his books. I think it is the best, actually. I used to own one of the original copies of the book--not a reprint released after his The Firm made him a household name. I loaned it to someone and it was never returned.
