I've started the book and finished year 1964...so far I'm enjoying the book.

I LOVED that book. I picked it up a couple of years ago while on vacation at Hilton Head. It wasn't until I started reading it that I realized it was written by a professor at the University of Kentucky....where my DD was getting ready to graduate from, plus I'm a born and bred hillbilly from the eastern part of the state!

Some parts were great but there there were other parts I felt that were totally unnecessary like the author just wanted to extend the book. Overall it was okay.

I'm more than halfway through and I'm enjoying the book but like Sbcrazee said there does seem to be some unnecessary stuff in there. Also, I feel like so far that hasn't been enough in the chapters about Caroline and Phoebe.

The middle was slow and the ending seemed quick. Still, I'd have read it again.

Forgot to mention that I finished the book a couple of days ago. I read for 5 hours straight until I was done with it. I felt the end dragged on a bit too much for a few pages. I liked the book, wouldn't say it was great. It had some really good parts but a lot of stuff that just wasn't memorable. Still, glad I read it though. Of course, Phoebe was my favorite character in the book.

I didn't like that book very much. I felt it was overdone and the ending seemed very hurried.

I started reading this and then lost interest....it was good, maybe I will pick it up again and suffer through the slow part to get back into it!
