For those of you who like Paranormal books
For those of you (like Angela and I) who loved Twilight and read other Paranomal Romance books, I've read a few new ones that I thought I would share.

The Hunger Games and Catching Fire - absolutely incredible books. Loved them! The 3rd book Mockingjay is coming out in August and I can't wait.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore - Another fabulous book.

The Summoning series by Kelley Armstrong - Just read The Summoning. Awakening is the 2nd book. Reckoning is the 3rd book. The Hunger Games series is better that this one. But I'd still give this series 3-4 stars. I've only read the Summoning so far. I'm waiting for the other books to come into the library.

I second Hunger Games and Catching Fire. I already have the 3rd one pre-ordered. Fantastic books!!

I have the summoning but haven't read it yet. But I absolutely adore the author, kelley Armstrongs, Women of the Otherworld series (if you haven't read them read them!! they are some of my fav!) so I can only imagine this will be good as well. :-D

Re: For those of you who like Paranormal books
I loved Graceling - I still need to read the prequel.

My sister started me on a new series - Evernight by Claudia Gray. It's another vampire series and the first book was really good. I need to borrow the second one from her. Short summary - Bianca's life at her new boarding school is an oppressive weight on her shoulders, even though her parents are living at the school as well. They are teachers and expect Bianca to fit right in, no easy task as she spent most of her life in relative isolation in their country home. She soon meets fellow new student Lucas and they have an instant connection, but they are both hiding secrets that make a relationship near impossible. One wrong move sets into motion a series of events that leave these star-crossed lovers in mortal (or immortal) danger.

Hunger Games was both of my DD's "one School One Book" book last year. It was a program where every student and teacher, and staff member (including office staff, nurse, custodians, etc. were given a hard back copy of the book and then everyone took time each day to read it in school. It really gave the adolescents and adults a common bond and something to talk about on a personal level. They loved it (and the sequel) but I haven't read them yet.
