The Associate by John Grisham
Finished John's latest book this morning. The Associate is more like The Firm than his other books.

We follow Kyle McAvoy, law student then associate in a huge NYC law firm, as he becomes unwillingly entrapped in a conspiracy steal ultra-sensitive documents from his new firm for some thugs of unclear origin. Lots of contrasts of good and evil and struggles over how far Kyle is willing to go to save his own skin. It is the kind of story that could make you paranoid.

Gotta go. Someone may be watching...

I really liked his earlier books but lately he hasn't been wowing me.  I am glad you posted your review.  I saw the book but passed on it.  Maybe I will give it a try when I have time to read again.

I'm with you Beth :)  Hopefully this one is just as good as The Firm.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is "as good as" The Firm, but it is better than The Appeal which I hated the ending of.

My all time favorite JG book will always be A Time to Kill, then The Firm.

That's my favorite also! Hard to believe it started out as a publishing rejection...! Became a bestseller almost over night once it was republished by Doubleday in hardback and then again by Dell Publishing in paperback.  The movie was difficult to watch at times though...
