OK, it's not all books, but I have 49 items on hold and 17 checked out! Every couple of weeks I check their list of items on order and add the ones I want to my list. I just added a bunch of CD's--many of the Christmas CD's, including Josh Groban's. Fun, fun!!
You and me both, Trina.I actually have 2 movies in that I need to go pick up this afternoon. Still waiting on some books. Tap, tap, tap.....Lean Mean 13 finally came in last week. Done in 4 hours. Our max hold amount is 20 though.
I keep thinking I'm gonna hit a maxium, but I haven't.Another thing that I really like about our library is that nearly everything I've requested, they have ordered. When they do, I can the first hold on it, too.
OK, I just hit the max! It's 50. I took a few things out that I can remember and will add back in later.
We have a max of 10 we can put on hold & it's a $1:00 per item put on hold.

Wowzer! We've got a wonderful library system. Check it out at www.cadl.org.
I'm bad about not keeping up with things. I haven't really been to our library in about a year, I've just been buying books when I want to read since I've been reading so much less than I used to. But with all this talk about your libraries, I decided to check mine out, see if they had anything online. And they do! It's a pretty cool site, and I can reserve books and stuff just like you all are saying. Plus, I just found out that there's a small branch that just opened up a few blocks from my house. So I went there at lunch today, because to use the online system you have to go into a library branch to get some code, and I wanted to see what all they had there anyway. I got my online code and looked through their selection - it's a small collection there, mostly new stuff, but pretty cool, and they have a ton of computer stations too. Good to know. I can't believe I never noticed it, it's right next to the Publix I shop at every week. I have GOT to start paying attention. They had a copy of Lean Mean Thirteen on the shelf so I grabbed that sucker, now I don't have to wait for it to come out in paperback.
Yippee!!I'm back up to 49 on hold today. I put some CDs on hold--Queen Latifah's new one & Brian Setzer's new one (based on my sister's recommendation from having heard about them on NPR).Also put Barbara Kingsolver's new book on hold--about food. Sounded interesting.
Well, I did it - I reserved (and received) my very first book from the library hold system! Dude, that is so much easier than stalking the librarian. Now I have plenty of reading material for my trip this weekend.
Everytime I pick up another book at my newly discovered library branch, I thank you girls on this thread. Just picked up two yesterday, and reserved two more on line to be delivered when they are available.
