This is for Option 1.  I went with a collage style based after the Royal Tenenbaum's poster.

This layout has a military theme and my inspiration is the Defense Line of Amsterdam which is a 135 km fortification line around Amsterdam and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1996.
