Re: What's the story behind your ACOT nickname??

When my sister and I started scraping 20 years ago, she could not scrap at home with 2 toddlers, so she'd leave them at home with Dad for some male bonding time, and we'd scrap on my dining room table. Our group grew and we became the Scrap Sisters. And I am the ScrapSis. I love that you named your...

Re: trimmer recommendations please?

I have been scrapping for 18 years and have been through all kinds of cutters. I finally found one that cuts straight, all the time. It is the Carl Rotary trimmer. I got the 15 inch so I can cut 12 by 12 at an angle. I love it. ACOT does not carry it, so here is the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.co...

Re: Circle Cutter

I have the Martha Stewart cutter - best one I have tried. I cut on all sizes of paper and photos - the trick is to use a glass mat, and tape down 2 corners of your paper. that holds it in place and it does not move while you cut. It is great.

Re: Does your DH contribute to your scrapbook albums?

My husband is known as Scrap Guy. When we scrap for a day, everyone brings something and when it is time to eat, Scrap Guy calls us to the table, joins us to eat and cleans up after. He is also our roaming consultant for layouts - what looks good, what colors to use etc. And when we vacation, I use ...

Re: Titles?

I do occasionally repeat a title, if it fits, use it. I find there are no significant rules in scrapbooking (except for keeping your pictures protected by using acidfree materials). If you like it, it is just fine!!

Re: printed digital books?

I use Shutterfly. I do my own digital pages in whatever size I plan to print them then I save them in a separate folder as JPEGs in the size I want them to be. Then I upload them to Snapfish and make sure that every page has a full page photo (or whatever size you want it to be if you prefer that th...

Re: You know what my favorite thing is...

That is the top of my list of "scrapbooking rules" - There is no wrong way to scrapbook, if you like, it is right!! #2 is use acid free for anything that touches your photos. I love seeing what others like and learning and scraplifing from the best.

Re: Tell me it's ok...

Hi JillinIN You are sooo right. There is no right and wrong in scrapbooking (except for keeping stuff that touches the photos acid free). I do paper scrapping, digital scrapping, and my version of hybrid scrapping that is a little of both. Sometimes I just need to feel the textures of paper scrappin...

Re: Thickest Scrapbook Ever?

I have a 5 inch thick one - Close to My Heart fabric album with thier 1 inch extender posts. But I generally keep them 3 inches thick or under to keep them manageable. I did our Alaska trip in 4 albums and each is 2-3 inches thick!! What a trip! It took me a full year to scrap it all and I felt like...

Re: Hubby loves my SB tools

My hubby is the official Scrap Guy for my Scrap Sisters group. When we get together, he fixes our meals (and cleans up). He loves to consult on layouts, color choices and has a great eye for design. But he does not scrap. He has been know to use my CARL cutter and a few other items, though.

Re: I don't know how you girls that go to crops do it

I used to go to 2-3 crops a year - lots of packing etc. Now I have a large scraproom down stairs with a huge closet. My sister keeps her stuff here so when she comes over, she only moves from the closet to her 8 foot table. We have a group of 5 ladies who have weekend crops 3 times a year. I have th...

Re: eBooks?

I have a Kindle and love it. I have never had anything removed from it by Amazon. If you loan an e-book to someone, it is only good for 2 weeks so that may be when something disappears but if you know that, then don't borrow a book when you don't have time to read it. Ebooks are a little to a lot ch...
