easy way to export/migrate from one install to another

I have been working for hours on exporting a working cacti install to another system (SuSE Linux to FreeBSD, differnet paths, hierarchies etc.) and it's been a real pain. I had hoped a simple mysqldump, some perl file munging, and mysql cacti <dumpfile would do it.

What would be needed is some way of exporting the data without the config details, since that is most easily done in the UI.
