Another graph issue ***edit : IT'S FIXED***

Post by kermitthefrog »

Hello all,

First I'd like to say I have this cacti running on some Linux boxes and it works.
But I have now installed it on my Windows 2003 server now.....

Ok let's start with the basic:
I am using:

- Windows 2003 (running as a DC)
- PHP 5.0.5
- RRDTool 1.2.11 (cacti's one)
- IIS 6.0
- cacti 0.8.6g
- poller: cmd.php
- perl 5.8.7

I have attached some logs files.

The rrd files are being created in the rra folder.
But the graphs are not, I only get a line saying what it is but no graph, not even a red cross.

Can you help me, if you need more info let me know.

Thanks
Stephane

Looks like your collecting valid data at least, yay!

Since you don't have any graphs, make sure you:
1) have a valid path to the rrdtool.exe file
2) Selected the correct rrdtool version in cacti
3) specified a valid ttf font file in cacti
4) gave your IUSR read/execute rights on cmd.exe and rrdtool.exe.

1) path is correct
2) correct
3) correct
4) also correct

I believe I have everything right (less one thing otherwise it will be working), but i am sure i am missing something.

argh, i so want this system to work.

I've given read/write permisions to rrdtool.exe and cmd.exe for the user:
IUSR, should i have also IWAM ? or other?

:-?

Go into graph management, then click on a graph. Turn on graph debugging (top right) and paste the output for a broken graph.

Since your also logging everything, look in your cacti log file for WEBEVENTS at the same time you were in the graph management. You should see the raw command string that was passed to rrdtool.exe. Paste that in here too.

FIXED IT'S FIXED, I am so happy.

In Windows 2003 you MUST do this:
give IIS_WPG "read&execute read" to rrdtool.exe and cmd.exe

Right.

IUSR_XXX is typically the default user for anonymous access to IIS. The name might be different (as it is for you) if it has been changed, etc.
