SNMP error on create device/poller.php creates no /rra files

Post by jasealpers »

I am working on getting cacti setup on a Linux machine and am having a few issues:

1) I get an "SNMP error" on the device that I create for the Linux server. This server has the following snmp packages installed and running:

php-snmp-4.2.2-8.0.8
net-snmp-5.0.1-6
net-snmp-utils-5.0.1-6

I'm running Apache for the web server and it was restarted after the php-snmp package was installed.

2) poller.php is not generating any files in the rra directory. When running it from the command line, I get...

X-Powered-By: PHP/4.2.2
Content-type: text/html

10/04/2005 11:55:39 PM - SYSTEM STATS: Time: 9.6366 s, Method: cmd.php, Processes: 1, Threads: N/A, Hosts: 2, Hosts/Process: 2, Data Sources 7, RRDs Processed 0

Perhaps I haven't made it far enough to declare an RRD due to issue #1? However, I do have graphs defined for the server.

Thanks for the help!

Upgrading the net-snmp and net-snmp-util packages to the following versions solved both issues above.

net-snmp-5.0.9-2.80.1
net-snmp-utils-5.0.9-2.80.1

Now I am encoutering a problem that the new device I created is not listed in the graph view. In the console view, I can create new graphs, etc. Manually, I can run poller.php and get results.

Thanks again!
