Graph Templates for non-snmp hosts

Post by tallchris »

I am trying to graph a non-snmp HVAC sensor for temp, humity, and illumination:

Ive got this to work perfect in MRTG, but i would like cacti to graph now. I have fixed the mrtg script and got it to work perfect at my work where we use an older version of cacti.

My problem is, i want to get this working on a the newer version of cacti, and I notice the new version of cacti thinks this host is down cause it doesnt respond to snmp. Our old version at work doesnt check this and we are able to make a graph template and apply it to the polling host(device).

Is there any kind of work-around for me? I have got this to kinda work using this:
http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/htm ... graph.html

but I would like to use graph templates for easier administration. If I use the above tutorial, i have to create a data input method, and data source, and graph for each graph i want to create, which is a pain.

Thanks in advance for any help!
