INteresting SNMP polling problem..

Post by Erik.H »

Hi all, I'm starting to deploy cacti on the network at work and I ran into a problem. The community ID for my company has !! at the end of it.

The poller isn't working, because, I believe, the !! is being interpreted in the shell. I can get around it by typing single quotes around the community name when polling with snmpwalk, any ideas how I can get around it with cacti?

Maybe there is a way to edit the php poller? Which one would I modify, I'm not as familiar with the scripting rules of php as I am with bash.

Any help would be appreciated

Hmmm Try putting a \ before each of the !'s to see if that works.

I actually got it to work, it wasn't the community name with the !! in it. That was only an issue with polling from the command line. The actual problem is that on linux/win32/cisco the only poll I can get from cacti to work is the interface stats. I'm currently looking over documentation to figure this out.

Thanks for the reply!
