rrdtool woes

Post by capnqwest »

Ok, it's sad to admit but I've been trying to install cacti for a week now. I have everything ready to go except I can't install rrdtool. I get the infamous "cgilib" dependency problem and even though I have cgilib0.5 installed, I can't get rrdtool to find it. I've tried the suggestions listed in this thread and followed the README instructions precisely. I've searched Google and the rrdtool mailing list but not a single suggestion has been successful. I'm desperate.

Is anyone interested in helping me? I can offer free lifetime shared Cpanel web hosting and will set you up before you help me. Please send me a PM if interested.

Thanks

And of course as soon as I posted this, it worked.

In case anyone else runs into RRDTools issues with cgilib when trying to run ./configure, I too tried everything. Eventually I ended up installing the .rpm version of cgilib (http://dag.wieers.com/packages/cgilib/).

Once I did that, the rest of the install ran smooth as silk.
