[Problem] Upgrade from 0.8.5a to 0.8.6f

Post by cf2005 »

Hi,

I tried to upgrade from a 0.8.5a to the release 0.8.6f without success.
After upgrade on the webfront-end I'm getting a default login screen.
After I entered my credintials I have a white screen/page. When I'm pressing the reload button of browser I'm getting the message "Access Denied ....".

The file-attributes are ok and when I'm installing the new cacti blank, it is running without any problems. I'm have problem only I upgrade from the 0.8.5a to 0.8.6f

I need to migrate the whole stuff, because I have 110 hosts in the database, one year rra information.

My system is running on FC3/MySQL 4.0.20/Apache 2.x

Hope somebody can help me with this issue.

Thanks,

Run a check/repair on the database and then attempt to upgrade/login again.

Hi ,

Are you connecting to your cacti interface from the same host ?

If not try to see in
/etc/httpd/conf.d/cacti.conf if a directive like this exist:

allow from 127.0.0.1

In this case you can only connect from the server you're on, if you want to connect from another one, add temporarily

allow from all
or allow from 192.168.0.1
suite to your case....

Hope this help, sorry for my broken English :-(

Hi,

I got the problem fixed. I merged the database from another host to the current used mysql server. The MySQL migration tool converted my MyIsam structure to InnoDB. That was the problem. A quick and easy move the data solved the problem.

Now I'm fighting with cron, which is not running in the five minutes intervall. Cron is right setup.

Thanks,
