TCP Utilization for ucd/net-snmp and maybe others.

Post by kiw0r »

Hello,

I have just finished a couple of graph for Net/Ucd-snmp using MibII to graph tcp usage on a machine.

It use mibII stuff, so I think it can works on other system if the snmp agent is mibII complian (I have some success with Aix, but Aix snmp is not really a stable beast...).

See samples for more infos :) Templates included here for your pleasure... :)

To those users of cacti 0.8.6c upward, who are not able to import due to mismatching cacti version, I'll supply a merely similar template. It's not build as a host template, but delivered as two graph templates. Personally, I added them to my "ucd/net" host template and used the script at http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=7494 to update the grpah templates of all hosts using this host template.

Thanks for the add-on. It really works with an exception that graph shows
that TCP-IN is greater than TCP-OUT while in the stats it is clearly a reverse.

I am attaching an image where you can see TCP-OUT is always spiked above TCP-IN while statistics proves otherwise.

Could this be a bug ?

Thanks!!

Alex

This is a STACKed graph. TCP IN is the base and TCP OUT is stacked on top of TCP IN. This allows you to estimate the some of both from the graph.
To prove this, please have a look at the TCP IN peak and compare this to the y-axis. This fits to the readings in the legend. Take TCP OUT from the legend and add this to TCP IN. You will end up at the value shown by the STACK in the graph. Perhaps this is easier to undertsand, when zooming deply into this graph.
If you do not like this behaviour, please goto Graph Templates and select this one. Please select all graphes items (#1, #6, #11, #16) and change Graph Item Type to LINE1.
