Consolidation Function (Definition for Average) ??

Dear All,

I'm getting confused on the consolidation function during the graph item creation.

From the Cacti document said. The "AVERAGE is used to represent an average over the selected time span". But what do the meaning of "selected time span" ? average for all data collected ? average for date which are the last 5 minutes only ?

Consolidation Function - How data is to be represented on a graph. Normally AVERAGE is used to represent an average over the selected time span. But LAST, MIN, and MAX can also be used to display other kinds of data too.
