setting up php on slackware 10.1

I have just installed slackware 10.1 on my laptop.

I have edited the httpd.conf file to change my directory root and uncommented the Include /etc/apache/mod_php.conf

When i try and connect to a simple php page using http://localhost/~chris/
I get a windows saying there is something of type application/x-httpd-php and i have the option to save as, open with or cancel

Any ideas what ive not done?

you need to put theese two into your httpd.conf file
LoadModule php4_module libexec/apache/libphp4.so
and
AddModule mod_php4.c
when you have added theese ones, just restart apache with apachectl restart
