Equal printers - different output from snmpwalk

Post by bofh »

Hello @all from germany,

first of all: great forum! I started with cacti last week and since then I've realised so much because of all the nice stuff in here.

But now let me explain my problem:

I've two equal printers HP Laserjet 2100. Both are connected to my LAN with a HP Netport (RJ45 - Paralel).

On one printer I can read the printed pages via "snmpwalk -C c -v 1 -c communitystring my-IP"

On the other printer this is not possible.

I made a diff of both outputs showing me that the good working printer gives much more output.

The other printer has no category "HOST-RESOURCES-MIB".
In this category the "printed pages" are listed on the "good-working" printer...

Could you tell me why this happens?

Greetings from germany,
