Cacti and NAT

Post by Fadi »

Does anyone have experience using Cacti and NAT together?

Is Cacti capable of polling data from devices with NAT gateways in between?

Um...

Since NAT is completely a network thing, and Cacti users SNMP. You should be worrying about configuring port forwaring, depending on the direction of the NAT, to allow cacti access to devices.

My question is going a little deeper then the basic networking configuration...
As Cacti uses SNMP these SNMP queries need to be NATed as well... Is this possible and does Cacti understand the data afterwards?

As long as NAT is working then yes it will work fine. Its nothing to do with Cacti.
