Used Memory Problem

Post by srn »

Hi.

I have a machine that as 8Gb of physical memory.

However, the "Memory usage" graph from cacti only show up to 4.29 GB.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

4294967295 = 0xFFFFFFFF and is the maximum value in a 32 bit counter. You need to use a 64 bit counter to report more than this amount.

How??

What should I do to start using a 64 bit counters in my graphics? What do I need to change?

Is this operation disruptive, meaning, do I loose my old graphics?

Thanks.

You vendor should be reporting memory in KBytes. This will resolve the issue for your vendor. Sounds like a poor design. Open a ticket with your vendor.

I did an upgrade in net-snmp packages and the issue was solved.

Thanks.
