Need Help in PHP and MYSQL

i have install php 4.0, apache 2.0 and mysql 4.0 on my linux server.
I always get this message

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect()

when i try to open my php website.

Any one can help me?

Im also having the similar error on my WinXP machine

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\lib\adodb\drivers\adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 338

SQL 5.0.4
Apache 2.0.54
PHP 5.04
cacti-0.8.6d
rrdtool-1.0.49

I've also tried on cacti-0.8.6c

1) Search the forum. Many others have had the same problem.
2) Type: php -m at the command prompt and paste output.
3) Did you forget to create the cacti account in MySQL and enter the user/pass in config.php ?
