Hi all,
I've been trying to follow the instructions to add graphing of data from my ups to cacti - mainly following the instructions at:
http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/htm ... graph.html
I've got a script that generates output like:
LINEV:252.0 LOADPCT:3.9 BCHARGE:100.0 TIMELEFT:22.0 OUTPUTV:223.2 ITEMP:28.2 BATTV:27.5 NUMXFERS:1 TONBATT:0 SELFTEST:0 STATFLAG:02000008
which looks similar to the output from other scripts to me. (And that works fine running as 'www-data' the same as cacti.)
I've been through and setup a data input method and a data source that has data source items for each of the values (btaatv, bcharge, itemp, etc) I want to graph.
I've then setup various graphs for the data.
The problem is I'm getting errors like:
ERROR: opening '/usr/share/cacti/site/rra/ups_battv_35.rrd': No such file or directory
from the poller (when it's trying to export the external graphs) or when I go to one of the graph edit screens with the debug on. Other graphs using some of the presetup input methods/queries are working fine, it's just this script based one I've having trouble with.
I'm more than prepared to believe I've done something wrong, but can someone give me some clues what? At what stage in the instructions at http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/htm ... graph.html should this file have got created?
(cacti 0.6.8c-7 running on debian testing)
Thanks!
Joseph
rrd file for custom script not being created

When you turn on debugging for the poller, you can see your script is outputting valid data and cacti2rrd is properly storing the values?
| Scripts: Monitor processes | RFC1213 MIB | DOCSIS Stats | Dell PowerEdge | Speedfan | APC UPS | DOCSIS CMTS | 3ware | Motorola Canopy |
| Guides: Windows Install | [HOWTO] Debug Windows NTFS permission problems |
| Tools: Windows All-in-one Installer |
The odd thing is there weren't any lines in the log file poller about my script or the new datasource or graphs, apart from the ones about the graph exporter failing to find the file.BSOD2600 wrote:When you turn on debugging for the poller, you can see your script is outputting valid data and cacti2rrd is properly storing the values?
The really odd thing is it's magically started working now!
(I think it's possible I had another data source with a incorrect configuration, and fixing that made this one start working. I couldn't say for sure though.)
Thanks for the offer of help, anyway!
