Other suggestions?

Post by myo »

I've followed these instructions for updating SELinux to allow Cacti to run and rebooted but I am still not getting graphs generated and now `audit2allow -d' displays nothing but the output of `php poller.php' is the same as it was before.

Any other suggestions?

myo wrote:$CACTI_HOME/rra is still empty.

As i said,

Code: Select all

audit2allow -d
outputs nothing and after having run

Code: Select all

php poller.php
a few times since rebooting,

Code: Select all

grep "avc: denied" /var/log/messages
now gives no output as well. Is there somewhere else that I could be looking for clues as to what the problem might be?
Sorry, you posted on the announcement and I couldn't merge this reply onto this message. So I had to quote it.

You might want to review your configuration.

Yes....

Post by myo »

I saw this and thought that might be the problem but polling is enabled...unless I am misreading Settings->Poller:

Poller Enabled {checked}
Poller Type {cmd.php}

Am I missing something else?

Looks ok. Try System Utilities->View Poller Cache and Clear Poller Cache and post your results.

And it appears that neither Clear Poller Cache nor Clear Cacti Log are working for me through the web interface. I assume I can echo "" into the cacti log to clear it but how might I manually clear the poller cache?

Thanks for the quick responses on this!!

Well, Clear Poller Cache should work. As for Clear Cacti Log, it doesn't work for me either but it's expected as the Apache user has no right to clear/remove it! ;-)

Correct make sure the cacti user has write permissions to it though.

In mysql, database cacti, run "truncate table poller_item".

Just run clear poller cache... The name is a little miss leading, because it clears it then rebuilds it. So seeing output is normal.

Well...

Post by myo »

I tried all of these suggestions and my situation is right back to where this began: no graphs, nothing in $CACTI/rra, no errors that i can find, and no clue what to do next...should I just turn around and re-install?

Thanks again for all of the suggestions!

And you're not getting anything at all? Same error if you run poller.cmd?
