I have also noticed if I run cactid and am not at the directory that the cactid file is located it says (first line out)

ERROR: Could not open config file

but if I am at the path of the cactid file then it does not give the error; the first line out is
CACTID: Using cactid config file [cactid.conf]

THanks for your great help on this issue, this is an absolute awsome product.

Your hosts are either not configured to utilize snmp or you have an invalid read community.

Could that be even though the graphs work just fine with the cmd.php?
