I have read all the forum messages regarding this topic.
I have upgraded from 0.8.6c to 0.8.6d.
Tried cmd.php, was using cactid.
Symptoms: poller(s) run, but there is no update to the rrd files.
I never see rrdtool get called when watching top at a 1 second interval.
I just created a new device. With the log set to debug I can see the get's, using either poller, but no rrd files are created. All the queries seem to be taking place.
Permissions to the rra directory are correct. The process is using the correct user.
Our environment:
RHEL4
all the below, except rrdttol are rh packages.
php-4.3.9-3.6
php-snmp-4.3.9-3.6
net-snmp-5.1.2-11
RRDtool 1.0.49
mysql-4.1.7-4.RHEL4.1
I have been working with Cacti for close to a year now, and am simply befuddled. I will admit this is a large installation. I have zero'ed the log file with no change.
Where do I look now?
rrd's not updating

No duplicate data source in the Interface - Traffic data template,
traffic_in = 54
traffic_out = 55.
Re-built re-installed rrdtool 1.0.49 and did the following from:
http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=7639
Edit the database using the following command:
mysql -u root -p cacti
> select count(*) from poller_output;
If you have bocoup lines in that table, then you should:
> truncate table poller_output;
> quit
Now calling CACTI2RRD and the log is feeding me with a firehose.
I wish I could say that I am happy I fixed it, more nervous than anything.
I am moving the old rra directory back....
cmd.php is apparently updating the rrd's again....
changing back to cactid (0.8.6d)....
CACTI2RRD is still being called, graphs have numbers and the dreaded "nan" has been replaced.
I will offer support in troubleshooting. The install here is pretty large.
Best Wishes,
Gondo
P.S. Hope everone enjoyed the monologue...
