problem with cisco qos snmp data

Post by zonkimwald »

Hi
i have a big problem getting the snmp-responses from the cisco qos mib
into my cacti

if i do a manual
snmpget hostname community .oid

normaly i get the response
bla.bla.bla.mib = value

but from the cisco Qos mib i get

bla.bla.bla.mib = counter32:value

how do i convince my cacti to ignore the description (i.E counter 32)
and only take the value and update the rrd?

Has anyone a solution for this??

Yours

zonkimwald,

1. Ensure that you are using external snmpget (not the one PHP based which cacti uses by default).

2. Use "-Oq" option when you use snmpget command.

3. Be carefull with QoS objects. Their indexes changes very often (after every modification) so it is terrible task to keep the stats in sync - unless you write your own poller taking care of this issue.
